断崖絶壁が連なる海岸線と”積丹ブルー”と呼ばれる碧い海が織りなす絶景は、小樽の夏を鮮やかに彩ります。

海を渡る北前船の白い帆をイメージして生まれた、UNGAPLUSオリジナルグラス。小樽祝津の海沿いに工房を構える「KIM GLASS DESIGN」に製作していただきました。かつて真っ白な帆を上げ、日本海を往来した北前船。その姿に想いを馳せながら、グラスに映り込む揺らめく景色をお楽しみください。

【KIMGLASS DESIGN】KIM GLASS DESIGN

小樽祝津の海沿いにあるガラス工房。1,300℃に溶かされたガラスに想いを込め、手にした方とともに笑顔になれることを願い、丹念に創作している。代表の木村直樹さんは、若手ながら小樽の新しいガラスシーンを牽引している一人。 2017年LEXUS NEW TAKUMI PROJECT 北海道の匠に選出され、ガラスで「小樽焼」を新たに表現するなど、日々挑戦を試みている。削ぎ落としたシンプルな日常使いのものから日本人の持つ繊細な感覚を模様に散りばめた美しい工芸品、さらには、遊び心満載で形状自体がユニークな造形物まで幅広い作品で表現している。

The Shakotan Peninsula is renowned for its beautiful scenery facing the Sea of Japan.

The breathtaking views created by the coastline of sheer cliffs and the azure sea—known as “Shakotan Blue”—vividly enliven summer in Otaru.

This original UNGAPLUS glass was inspired by the white sails of the Kitamae ships that once crossed the sea. It was crafted by “KIM GLASS DESIGN,” whose studio is located along the coast of Shukutsu, Otaru. The Kitamae ships once sailed back and forth across the Sea of Japan with their pure white sails unfurled. As you let your thoughts drift to their image, please enjoy the shimmering scenery reflected in the glass.
