小樽のガラスの歴史は、生活必需品の保存容器などの生活雑器や石油ランプ、漁業用の「浮き玉」から始まりました。時代とともにガラス製品の需要は減少しながらも、実用的なものからデザイン性のあるものへと変化を遂げながら、小樽の文化に根付いています。

【OTARU GLASS】
At “Ichinokura” on the first floor of UNGAPLUS, we’re showcasing “Otaru Glass,” which adds a refreshing touch to the hot summer.

The history of Otaru glass began with everyday household items such as storage containers for daily necessities, kerosene lamps, and “buoys” used in fishing. Although demand for glass products has declined over time, they have evolved from practical items to design-oriented pieces and remain deeply rooted in Otaru’s culture.

In collaboration with local artisans, we offer our store’s original glasses and wind chimes. You can purchase them both in-store and through our online shop. Please come take a look.
