今年も、北島酒造の「銷夏酒」が入荷いたしました。半年の厄を落とす夏越しの祓（なごしのはらえ）に因んだ夏季限定の熟成生酒、脂気のある食べ物とも相性が良く、料理の味を引き立てます。

「夏越の祓」とは、六月晦日に、「茅の和」をくぐることによって、半年間の罪のけがれを祓い、夏以降の疫病退散を祈願する行事です。梅雨時の悪霊や、けがれを洗い流す禊（みそぎ）の酒として、「夏越しの酒」を飲む習慣が古くからありました。『銷夏酒』は、暑い夏を健康に乗り越えるための暑気払いのお酒です。

[Shoka-Sake/Kitajima shuzo]

Kitajima Shuzo’s “Shōka-sake” has arrived again this year. This summer-limited, aged unpasteurized sake is inspired by the “Nagoshi no Harai” ritual, which is performed on the last day of June to purify oneself of the misfortunes of the past six months. It pairs well with rich, fatty foods and enhances the flavors of your meal.

“Nagoshi no Harai” is a ritual held on the last day of June, in which people pass through a “chigaya” (reed) arch to purify themselves of the sins and impurities accumulated over the past six months and pray for the warding off of epidemics in the summer and beyond. There has long been a tradition of drinking “Nagoshi-no-Sake” as a purifying sake to wash away the evil spirits and impurities of the rainy season. “Sho-ka-shu” is a sake designed to help you stay healthy and beat the heat during the hot summer months.
