During the Meiji period, when the development of Hokkaido began, the Kitamae ships brought many daily necessities—such as rice, sake, cotton, straw, and kimonos—to Otaru, while kelp, salmon, and herring were shipped out from the city.

The “Hokkaido Delicacies” series delivers products from Hokkaido, which still boasts rich soil today, in packaging that reflects the history of the region opened up by the comings and goings of the Kitamae ships.

We wrap the gift box—designed to resemble the pure white sails of the Kitamae ships—in our original wrapping paper and deliver it along with the charm of Otaru.
