札幌の木工作家・清水宏晃さんの熊彫『白樺のくま』が入荷しております。真っ白な樹皮とすらりとした高木の白樺は、北海道の美しい景観の一つ。その樹木の佇まいと艶やかな樹皮を生かした、木彫りの立ち熊です。

北海道の南部にある八雲町が発祥の地と言われている「熊彫」。農閑期の収入源として始まった木彫り熊が、北海道を代表する土産品として広まり、今ではコレクターも生み出すほど多くの人を魅了しています。

表情豊かな樹皮とやわらか木肌のコントラストが美しく、存在感のある熊彫。暮らしのなかに北海道の景色が生まれる熊のオブジェです。

北海道・札幌市に工房を構える木工作家。主に無垢材を使用したテーブルや椅子、スツールなどの家具や器、オーダー制作のほか、北海道産の木材を使用した熊彫や雪像彫刻の制作など、幅広い創作活動に取り組んでいる。 命のある素材「木」の持つ性質を想い、永い時間をかけて育った「木」で、愛着を持っていただけるモノ作りを心がけて制作している。 道内外の百貨店やギャラリーでの展示会を中心に発表。

We have received a shipment of “Birch Bear,” a bear carving by Sapporo-based wood artist Hiroaki Shimizu. The slender, tall birch trees with their pure white bark are one of Hokkaido’s most beautiful sights. This standing wooden bear carving captures the tree’s graceful presence and lustrous bark.

Bear carvings” are said to have originated in Yakumo Town, located in southern Hokkaido. What began as a source of income during the off-season for farmers has spread to become a representative souvenir of Hokkaido, captivating so many people that it has even attracted a dedicated following of collectors.

The contrast between the expressive bark and the soft texture of the wood is beautiful, creating a bear carving with a strong presence. This bear sculpture brings the scenery of Hokkaido into your daily life.
